Configuring a Source Database for CDC
The Matillion ETL Change Data Capture feature is being deprecated from version 1.71. This means that this feature will not be available for new users from this version. However, existing users of Matillion ETL Change Data Capture will still be able to access and use this feature up to December 2024. If required, please contact your Sales representative or Matillion Support for more information.
The Change Data Capture (CDC) function that Matillion ETL offers is reliant on AWS DMS. Part of the usual DMS setup requires configuring your source database to allow reading of logs, and this must be completed before using those databases as a source in the CDC function in Matillion ETL. The instructions to configure this are highly dependent on platform and source database, and so we refer to the AWS documentation below:
- For those using MS SQL as their Source Database: AWS documentation.
- For those using MySQL as their Source Database: AWS documentation.
- For those using Oracle as their Source Database: AWS documentation.
- For those using PostgreSQL Database as their Source Database: AWS documentation.
