Launching A Specific Version On Azure

This article is specific to the following platforms - Snowflake - Synapse.

Overview

This topic explains how to launch virtual machine (VM) of a specific version of Matillion ETL using the Azure CLI.

This article applies to Matillion ETL for Snowflake and Matillion ETL for Azure Synapse.

Launching a Specific Version of Matillion ETL in Azure

1. Launch the Azure CLI. Please read the Azure documentation on installing the Azure CLI on your operating system or running it in either Docker Container or Azure Cloud Shell if you have not done so before.

2. Run the following command to list what versions of Matillion ETL VMs are available:

az vm image list --location $location --publisher matillion --all

"$location" is your account location.

The available VMs follow this format:

publisher:product:offering:version
Parameter Value
Publisher matillion
Product matillion-etl-azure-synapse
matillion-etl-snowflake
Offering matillion-etl-synapse
matillion-etl-snowflake
Version 1.46.5 (example version)

3. To launch a particular VM, type the following command:

az vm create -n MyVm -g MyResourceGroup --image matillion:matillion-etl-azure-synapse:matillion-etl-synapse:1.45.1

The example above creates a VM on version 1.45.1 of Matillion ETL for Azure Synapse. Users should switch out the version number for the available version they wish to create.

az vm create -n MyVm -g MyResourceGroup --image matillion:matillion-etl-snowflake:matillion-etl-snowflake:1.46.5

The example above creates a VM on version 1.46.5 of Matillion ETL for Snowflake. Users should switch out the version number for the available version they wish to create.
