Mandrill Extract Authentication Guide

Mandrill Extract Authentication Guide

Overview

This is a step-by-step guide to acquiring credentials and authorising the Mandrill Extract connector for use in Matillion ETL.

Important Information

  • The Mandrill Extract connector uses an API token for third-party authentication.
  • While connector properties may differ between Cloud Data Warehouses, the authentication process remains the same.
  • Mandrill is a paid Mailchimp add-on, so valid Mailchimp login credentials are required to access the Mandrill App website.

Acquiring Third-Party Credentials

  1. Navigate to the Mandrill app homepage and click Log in using Mailchimp. The browser will redirect to the MailChimp log in screen. Enter valid credentials and click Log In.

  4. The section will expand, revealing several inputs required to create a new API key. Give the new API key a name in the Description field, tick the relevant options, then click Create API Key.

  5. If the details are accepted, a yellow block should appear at the top of the screen saying API key successfully created and the new API key will appear at the top of the API key list. Copy the API key from the list as it will be required in Authorising for use in Matillion ETL.

    Please Note

When copying the API key, some browsers may add a space to the end of the code. Watch out for this as it will cause the credentials to fail.

Authorising for Use in Matillion ETL
  1. If a Mandrill Extract connector has not already been dragged onto the job canvas, search "Mandrill" using the Components panel search field, or find the Mandrill Extract connector under OrchestrationLoad/UnloadInternet.

    Please Note

An Orchestration Job must be open on the job canvas within Matillion ETL to ensure the Mandrill Extract connector is searchable within the Components panel.

  2. Then, click and drag the Mandrill Extract connector onto the job canvas.
